Search Management Concepts for Team Leaders & Searchers
State-of-the-art management of land search operations involves the use of complex components of search theory, lost subject behavior, statistical data and a host of other complicated functions. This 14-20 hour course has been designed as a primer on search management concepts, so that searchers and team leaders can more effectively contribute to the management process on scene. The course provides a valuable explanation about how and why certain functions must be done on a search and gives searchers and team leaders guidance on how to provide more valuable feedback to the SAR Manager on scene.  Many of the components found in the basic Management of Land Search Operations course are also used in this training. However, the focus is not on management, but on the implications of activities and feedback from the field. Two tabletop map exercises are used to emphasize specific field oriented objectives. A detailed plan of instruction and alternative options is available on request.
