Tim joined ERI in 2004 after closing Tim
Kneeland & Associates, Inc., a bicycle touring business he ran for
23 years. Tim was a USAF Survival Instructor from 1965 to 1969. His
assignments included teaching USAF aircrew members global survival,
training new survival instructors, and spending 15 months teaching SERE
(Survival, Evasion, Resistance, & Escape) in the Philippines and
Vietnam. After leaving the Air Force, Tim founded the Institute for
Education (ISE) in Seattle and Minneapolis. He ran ISE for over a
decade teaching global survival, wilderness travel, and emergency
prepardness to non-profit organization, general audiences, governement
agencies, military units, teacher education and at the university level.
Tim
began running bicycle tours in 1981 and created Odyssey 2000, a 250
person around-the-world bicle tour from Jan 1 to Dec 31, 2000. The
17,000 mile tour traveled through 45 countries on 6 continents. In
addition to teaching and consulting, Tim has extensive media experience
and has written booklets, articles and handbooks to support various
courses and programs. Tim has a BA from Eastern Washington University
and went to graduate school at the University of Minnesota. Tim is
responsible for ERI's website and is involved in marketing and sales
for the company.
