Rich joined the ERI staff in 1996 and often takes on Team Chief responsibilities on ERI's Homeland Security contract courses. Rich spent 26 years as a USAF Survival Instructor, often called Survival Escape Resistance Evasion (SERE) Specialist. He is a Master Parachutist and jump master, with over 700 jumps to his credit.
Rich had an illustrious career in the USAF. Among his most notable achievements, Rich managed the USAF Water Survival School at Homestead, FL for eleven years. He was the SERE Functional Manager when attached to the Military Airlift Command/Air Mobility Command Headquarters in
Illinois. Here he directed and developed the current Underwater Ditching Egress
Training Program for USAF helicopter crews. He is also responsible for implementing current peacetime detention training to support anti-terrorism programs for Command Aircrews going overseas. He also served as team leader for DOD-directed combat preparations training for high risk of capture crews outside of the continental U.S. Rich is Desert Storm Veteran.
