Basic Search & Rescue Skills: The Fundamentals Course
The "Basic Search and Rescue Skills" course consists of a diverse collection of skills and knowledge that has been determined to be essential "must know" basic information for all search and rescue responders. The course is generally tailored to meet the geographic needs of regional or global environments and their specialized SAR needs. After laying the foundation of basic tenets consistent to all SAR response, a local course then concentrates on regionally specific skills and knowledge that will provide the best combination of attributes for SAR responders in that area. The “basic skills and knowledge” contained within this course text and training program is entry-level information for emergency response, whether the environment is wilderness, rural, urban, or disaster.
