Advanced Concepts in Search Management
This three-day course serves as both a refresher and an update on the latest "Search Theory" and strategies for land search operations.  The pre-requisite for attendance (strictly enforced) to this training is the 5-day introductory basic search management course. This training also includes 2 to 3 advanced tabletop map exercises depending on local capabilities and needs. The first several hours of this course consists of a general review of search management fundamentals and theory from the basic course.  After that, the program explores more advanced concepts, forms and field strategy experiments to establish sweep width values, probability distribution mapping and tracking of the Probability Of Success factor.

  • Review of Shifting POA
  • Tracking POS for the Segment & the Overall Search
  • Scenario Analysis
  • Special New Resources & Their Application to Search Management
  • New Search Concepts for the Urban Environment
  • Review of Current Software Programs Available for Portable Computers
  • Also two or three new tabletop map problems to emphasize the use of these new concepts.
